Carlos Parada-Ayala

El Salvador. Oriundo de San Juan Opico, es autor del poemario, La luz de la tormenta/The Light of the Storm y ha recibido el premio Larry Neal de poesía en Washington, DC. Es co-editor de la antología bilingüe Knocking on the Doors of the White House: Latina and Latino Poets in Washington, DC (Zozobra Publishing, 2017). Con la versión en español de esta antología, Al pié de la Casa Blanca: Poetas Hispanos en Washington, DC, publicada por la Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española (2010), la Biblioteca del Congreso celebró cuatrocientos años de poesía escrita en español en Estados Unidos. Parada-Ayala recibió el reconocimiento «Independencia 2013» de parte de la Embajada de El Salvador en Washington, DC «por su destacada trayectoria y aporte a las letras nacionales, así como por su solidaridad con sus connacionales». Ha participado en el Encuentro internacional de poetas «El turno del ofendido» en El Salvador, en el Festival de nueva poesía y el Festival latinoamericano de Poesía en Nueva York, y en El maratón de poesía del Teatro de la luna en Washington, DC. Su poesía ha aparecido en antologías y revistas internacionales y forma parte de la serie The Poet and the Poem de la Biblioteca del Congreso. Parada-Ayala tiene licenciatura en literatura hispanoamericana y maestría en educación. Fue co-fundador del grupo cultural y literario ParaEsoLaPalabra y fue miembro del colectivo literario Alta hora de la noche. Ha participado en el grupo internacional de poetas y artistas de los Ablucionistas con sede en México.

He is co-editor of the bilingual anthology Knocking on the Doors of the White House: Latina and Latino Poets in Washington, DC (Zozobra Publishing, 2017). With the Spanish version of this anthology, Al pié de la Casa Blanca: Poetas Hispanos en Washington, DC, published by the North American Academy of the Spanish Language (2010), the Library of Congress celebrated four hundred years of poetry written in Spanish in the United States. Joined. Parada-Ayala received the «Independence 2013» recognition from the Embassy of El Salvador in Washington, DC «for his outstanding career and contribution to national literature, as well as for his solidarity with his fellow citizens.» He has participated in the International Meeting of Poets «The turn of the offended» in El Salvador, in the New Poetry Festival and the Latin American Poetry Festival in New York, and in the poetry marathon of the Theater of the Moon in Washington, DC . His poetry has appeared in international anthologies and magazines and is part of The Poet and the Poem series at the Library of Congress. Parada-Ayala has a bachelor’s degree in Hispanic American literature and a master’s degree in education. He was co-founder of the cultural and literary group ParaEsoLaPalabra and was a member of the literary collective Alta hora de la noche. He has participated in the international group of poets and artists the Ablutionists based in Mexico.
