Pasan los días, los meses, los años, las décadas, los siglos, los milenios, las cuentas largas mayas, eones de evolución humana y todavía no superamos nuestro egoísmo, egotismo, narcisismo que nos lleva a la negación del otro como un legítimo otro, hasta su destrucción. Sólo en el último siglo hemos sido testigos impotentes de los genocidios contra los tutsis, los musulmanes bosnios, los yazidíes, los rohinyás y los palestinos, además del holocausto judio. En cada caso, mientras observamos la manipulación de estos horrores perpetrados contra gente desarmada, inocente, mientras escuchamos cómo se justifican esta atrocidades, evidenciamos nuestra falla como humanidad, como especie que busca preservarse, ya no buscamos dominar y adaptar nuestro entorno para nuestra supervivencia, sino dominar y aplastar al otro para saciar una sed de poder que sólo se puede explicar como una enfermedad mental de gente que crece sin amor ni paz y que cree que el dinero y las posesiones los definen como personajes socialmente válidos.
No alcanzan las palabras para expresar este horror, en estas circunstancias realmente comprendemos a quienes deciden poner fin a su vida frente a un mundo absurdo, injusto, que duele todos los días, Alfonsina, Teresa, Pablo, Violeta, les entendemos ¿cómo se puede vivir así? A veces parece que la empatía y la compasión han quedado fuera del rango emocional humano, pero basta ver cómo los pueblos rechazan la guerra para comprender que éste es mal de pocos y que, de alguna forma, los sentimientos solidarios prevalecen.
En este sentido, ¡qué privilegio vivir en zonas de paz, con buen clima, acceso al agua, con casa, un trabajo agradable y rentable, además de un entorno natural reconfortante! Un privilegio que aumenta con la posesión de una voz y un canal, nuestras palabras deben alzarse, porque en este sur sabemos de genocidios y entendemos la importancia de estar en el lado correcto de la historia, ya sabemos, ya conocemos, ya experimentamos las nefastas consecuencias de la guerra, la destrucción de la biblioteca de Alejandría, retrasó el desarrollo de la humanidad en cientos de años, así como la inquisición católica nos instaló en el oscurantismo al negar y castigar el desarrollo de la ciencia, que responde a una curiosidad humana natural, además de destruir el atávico saber de Abya Yala.

Ejercemos nuestro derecho a expresarnos y disfrutamos el privilegio de hacerlo, vivimos en un mundo mejor que el de muchos y queremos que los demás terrestres habitantes de esta nave/planeta puedan también hacerlo, de nosotros depende, de ustedes depende, porque aunque quieran hacernos creer que somos impotentes, que “no tenemos velas en este entierro”, lo cierto es que si no pagas impuestos no hay dinero para defensa, si no participas de las milicias, no hay tropas de ataque, sin súbditos no hay monarquía, sin feligreses no hay iglesia. ¡Súmate a la vida, no a la guerra!
